Yixuan is a registered psychologist who provides warm, culturally sensitive, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children (7+), adolescents, and adults. Born in China and moving to Australia at age 17, she brings both personal and professional understanding to support clients from diverse backgrounds.

Yixuan believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and understood. Her approach is person-centred and flexible, guided by each client’s unique needs and interests. She is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients, including autistic individuals and ADHDers. Yixuan often adapts sessions to include her clients’ special interests—this might look like using storytelling, games, or creative activities, especially when working with younger clients.

She has experience working in private practice with international students, neurodivergent clients, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. She supports people with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. Yixuan uses evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Level 1), and Internal Family Systems (informed). Yixuan also works closely with parents, schools, and other health professionals in the community to provide support for her clients. She is passionate about animal-assisted therapy and has previously worked with a therapy cat in the clinic. She has seen how animals can help create a calm, safe space in therapy.

Outside of work, Yixuan fosters cats through Lost Dogs Home and enjoys spending time with her own cat. In her free time, Yixuan enjoys playing video games, watching anime, doing martial arts, and weightlifting.
