Introduction
Ming Shong Teh (John) is a warm, thoughtful, and approachable provisional psychologist who is passionate about supporting people through life's challenges with empathy, curiosity, and genuine respect. He believes that meaningful therapeutic change begins with feeling understood and works collaboratively with clients to create a safe space where they can explore their experiences, develop insight, and work towards meaningful goals.
John is currently completing his Master of Clinical Psychology at Monash University. Prior to commencing clinical training, he worked across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia in disability support, early intervention, youth residential care, education, and community mental health. These diverse experiences have provided him with a strong appreciation of the unique ways culture, relationships, and life experiences influence psychological wellbeing.
John values building authentic therapeutic relationships and tailoring therapy to each person's individual strengths, values, and circumstances. He aims to provide a compassionate, culturally responsive, and collaborative environment where clients feel supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Clinical and Work Experience
John is currently completing his clinical psychology training at Mind Body Heart Psychology under supervision.
Prior to commencing placement, he accumulated extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across community, educational, disability, and residential care settings in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
His experience includes:
Supporting children with neurodevelopmental differences and their families through early intervention
Providing trauma-informed care for young people in residential care
Supporting adults living with disability to achieve greater independence and wellbeing
Conducting suicide risk assessment and providing emotional support through crisis helpline services
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, educators, and medical professionals
These experiences have strengthened John's skills in rapport building, reflective listening, psychological formulation, risk awareness, multidisciplinary collaboration, and culturally responsive care.

John has lived and worked across Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia, giving him a deep appreciation for how culture, identity, family, and migration experiences can influence mental health and wellbeing.
